There are so many things that I love about this sweet picture book. Each verse of this rhyming poem begins with, "Taking time..." and the reader travels around the world to see children taking time to experience their natural surroundings. Beautiful word choice. One sentence for each page. I also love the motto of this publisher: Because all children deserve to see themselves in the books they read.
Teachers: Use this title for a lesson in word choice and have students add the descriptive words to a word wall. This title also works for a lesson in rhyming words. The author's message is very clear here so add this title to your determining theme unit. Enjoy this gem of a picture book!
