The journey of two children experiencing weather extremes in India highlight the power of nature and the resilience of the the human spirit. Very limited text on each page and text is typically a subject and a verb.
This title can also be used as a mentor text to show students another way to tell a story using a different sentence structure. Have students take a piece they have already written and see if they can retell the story in the similar format as the author using mostly subject and verb sentences. There is an author's note and an illustrator's note at the end of the book to extend learning.
